About
They’re after us. So many of them, we can’t escape. Our best chance is to keep our heads down, hide, and enjoy what peaceful lives we can until they find us. They fear us, they hate us, they think we’re lesser. One day we’ll find a way to fight back, but for now we hold each other tight and whisper words of comfort while the world burns around us. The metallic scent of blood fills the streets, cruelty is the norm, and those of us not in the majority hide in our holes. We’ll be okay. We’ll be okay…

Witch Blood is a web serial written by the Red Jester, Stanczyk. The story takes place in a world where the American witch hunts uncovered actual witches, and the witch hunters took those witches alive in order to study them and discover the secrets of witchcraft. Centuries later in the year 1920, those experiments have led to the rise of a military dictatorship known as The Orphic States, spanning the Americas and Europe with plans to expand to the rest of the world. While other countries band together to advance their technological abilities and resist this expansionist nation, The Orphic States put all of their resources into the study of the Hollow Sciences, the secret formulas and techniques allowing even non-witches to conquer the arcane and bend it to human will.
The story revolves around a trio of young witches, hidden and with only each other to rely on. In a world that wants them dead at best, or used for ingredients at worst, they struggle to stay ahead of the Witch Hunters and enjoy what small comforts they can. Growing closer day by day, the fear of capture only intensifies as they hold each other more dearly.
Witch Hunt will be broken up into arcs, each arc covering a different slice of the general narrative. Most chapters will be from the point of view of the main trio, but there will occasionally be interlude chapters from the perspective of side characters, or even antagonists. These will generally occur at the end of each arc to give an alternate perspective on the setting and the events occurring around the protagonists.
Young readers or those with sensitive constitutions may find the story triggering at times. Violence, mental illness, body horror, and vulgar language will occur. Events of a sexual nature will generally occur ‘off camera’, though may be alluded to by those involved. Tragic fates and horrible cruelty are an unfortunate norm of the setting, one that the protagonists will spit in the face of by fighting like hell to build lives full of love.
